Air Source Heat Pump
Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP)s absorb the heat at a low temperature from the outside environment, which is then turned into a liquid and sent into a compressor where it is heated to a higher temperature and transferred into the heating and hot water systems around the home.
The benefits in using ASHPs are:
Uses a renewable source (so no need for fuel deliveries) therefore will sustain continuous heat
Do not pollute the environment
Very little maintenance is needed
Can provide an income with Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI)
The Air Source Heat Pump does not take up a great deal of room as it can either be fitted tot he ground or wall mounted but does need an area around it so that a constant air flow can be reached at all times.
