Building Estimator

We are a family run business trading for 70 years with the aim or providing quality services across the construction industry. We are seeking an experienced Building Estimator to join our team

Job requirements:

  • Analysing and interpreting plans, bills of quantities and other project documentation in order to estimate costs

  • researching, sourcing and negotiating the best prices and quotes from suppliers and subcontractors

  • assessing the financial, technical, and operational risks of the project

  • visiting project sites to gather information

  • inputting into decisions over whether to bid for the project

  • Preparing bids and submitting tenders and quotations to timescale

Role requirements:

Experience with building estimation is essential however experience of estimation in respect of other trades is preferred but not essential.

This is a permanent position where flexible working hours can be considered on either a full or part time basis.

Package on offer:

In return, you will benefit from a competitive starting salary with annual pay reviews. Starting salary will be subject to experience and will be negotiable in the region of £40-£55k. The business offers training as required, a pension scheme and recognises a quality work life balance.

Trainee/Graduate Construction Site Supervisor

We are a family run business trading for 70 years with the aim or providing quality services across the construction industry. We are seeking a Trainee/Graduate Construction Site Supervisor to join our team. Roland Hill Site Supervisors ensure the safe and timely completion of construction projects.

Job requirements:

As a Trainee Site Supervisor you will support the Site Supervisor in:

  • Overseeing everyone working on our construction sites, which includes members of the construction team and any subcontractors.

  • Ensuring each individual has the necessary resources to complete their tasks and to monitor and ensure they perform their duties effectively and in compliance with industrial health and safety regulations.

  • Managing construction personnel and delegating tasks to meet deadlines

  • Performing regular inspections of the construction site

  • identifying potential safety hazards and managing them accordingly

  • Ensuring all personnel comply with health and safety practices, such as wearing the appropriate protective equipment

  • Checking work techniques are correct and safe

  • Managing orders and deliveries of building materials

  • Assisting project managers with planning work activities • completing site reports and other records

  • Liaising with Client, attending site meetings, ensuring site communication is maintained throughout the project

Role requirements:

Construction experience preferred plus an Interest in practical tasks and the construction industry in general. ·Keen to learn and develop technically and professionally. ·Excellent timekeeping, punctuality and attendance. ··Good communicator and team player. ·

This is a permanent position as a Trainee with the long term view of progressing to a Site Supervisor.

Package on offer:

In return, you will benefit from a competitive starting salary with annual pay reviews. The starting salary will be @ £25k - £30k, subject to negotiation and will rise incrementally as experience is gained. The business offers training as required, a pension scheme and recognises a quality work life balance.
